\n Two points: \n1. If only on stations, the cacophony is already at a level that the addition from attempts at conversations will be \"down in the noise\". \n2. Text messages and missed call reception can register on phones while at stations. These are silent (except for the occasional ouch from repetitive stress injury. \nConclusion: neither a nuisance nor a godsend but may be useful in emergency situations.\n
